Buckner brings together the expertise and resources of individuals and organizations to offer a world of hope to orphan children around the world. Currently Buckner has established ministry programs in China, Guatemala, Kenya, Latvia, Romania and Russia. We are developing a program in Peru and we have partnership programs in Bulgaria and Ethiopia. Through BOCI’s Shoes for Orphan Souls shoe drive campaign, more than 1.5 million children in the US and 40 different countries have received new shoes, socks and shoelaces. Through Buckner International Adoption we facilitate international adoptions from China, Guatemala and Russia.

God knows your size and style
Each year, one of the highlights of my fall is delivering shoes in Russia with the Shoes for Orphan Souls mission trip. I love leading teams, and I especially love visiting St. Petersburg because it means I get to see all of the children who have participated in Angels from Abroad, a Buckner-sponsored summer host program where Russian orphans stay with North Texas families for two weeks. These children and their caregivers are very precious to me, and it’s great to deliver presents and hugs to all of them from their Texas host families and soon-to-be forever families.
